As they grow their colors gradually develop. Males wind up dull green with blue dark colored and gold markings. The weather is changing and it s colder in our place and i suspect that has something to do with him keeping his darkest marks showing consistently. A young veiled chameleon will generally stay light green in color only showing color changes more often when it gets older.
